Every patch sits on a heavy twill base. How much thread covers that base is the coverage — and it's the single biggest factor in look, cost, and feel.

50% Coverage

Half the patch is thread, half is twill showing through. Ideal for bold single-color text, simple logos, name tapes. Cleanest, fastest, and most economical option.

Lowest cost

75% Coverage

The sweet spot. Rich thread texture with just a hint of twill background. Works for almost any logo with color and linework that isn't photoreal.

100% Coverage

Complete thread coverage, edge to edge. Best for multi-color art, detailed shading, and logos where you want zero twill showing through.

Merrowed

Classic thick stitched edge. Creates the rolled, finished look of a traditional patch. Works for circles, ovals, rounded rectangles, and squares. No extra charge.

Clean laser-cut edge. The only option for irregular shapes, custom outlines, complex silhouettes. Thin sealed edge that won't fray.

Backings

Four ways to attach.

Sew-on

Plain twill backing. Strongest hold, works with any machine or hand stitch. Best for uniforms, cuts, and gear that gets washed hard.

Free · Standard

Iron-on

Heat-seal adhesive film laminated to the back. Apply with a household iron or heat press. Great for one-time or semi-permanent placement.

Tape

Peel-and-stick adhesive backing. No sewing, no ironing. Best for temporary placement, events, giveaways. Won't survive a wash cycle.

Velcro (hook & loop)

Hook backing on the patch, loop sewn or glued on the garment. Standard for tactical gear, military uniforms, and modular patch systems.

Hundreds of standard thread colors at no charge. Give us a Pantone PMS number and we'll match it. Specialty thread options can replace any area of the design.

Standard

Polyester thread. Fade-resistant, wash-durable, available in hundreds of colors. First 7 colors in your design are included. Each additional is +$0.10.

Metallic

Gold, silver, copper. Reflective shimmer you can see from across the room. Works great for service patches, accent type, date rockers, and unit tabs.

Neon

Fluorescent pink, green, orange, yellow. Bright under daylight, brighter under UV. Used for high-visibility safety patches, band merch, and show flash.

Sizing

Size is longest edge.

We measure patches by the longest edge — width or height, whichever is bigger. Standard sizes run 2″ to 7″. Anything larger is a custom quote.

Small

Name tapes, skill badges, accent patches, hat patches, lapel-style. The size you clip onto gear without thinking twice.

// 3.5″–4.5″

Medium

Standard chest patches, unit insignia, service patches, shop logos. The most-ordered size range by far.

Large
